Remarkable 1946 Freight Outfit #2103W with #224/OBs+
|

This is the scarce #2103W Freight Outfit that Lionel made in 1946. This Set included the #224 Steam Engine, the #2466W Tender with Whistle and without a Drawbar, the #2452 Pennsylvania Gondola, the #2555 Sunoco Tank Car with "Gas/Oils", the #2458 Pennsylvania Automobile Boxcar and the #2457 Lighted Tinplate Caboose. Our Opinion is that the Set is generally in Excellent Plus to Like New Minus Condition. The Rolling Stock and Tender are outstanding; minor issues are the Caboose with a broken sliding-shoe and the Tender has some minor oxidation on the wheels. However, the Engine has several problems that can be easily addressed by replacing the chassis: A nice boiler, but the motor is frozen, a sintered-iron connector for a side-rod is broken, and some of the wheel flanges are crumbling. The Original Set Box is (8-) Condition with a great Label and part no. "463W 2" on one-side and the Firestone shipping label on the other. It was originally purchased thru a Firestone Outlet in Elyria, Ohio and marked "11-L-23" in grease pen. The interior Boxes are about as nice as you could hope to find and average (8/8+) Condition and all have correct Inserts; the #2452 Box is missing both tuck-flaps and the #224 Box has some tape and tears. We have taken 40 Pictures for your review. All Original in our Opinion. Please add $40.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance.
