This is the #11600 Freight Set that Lionel made in 1968 and referred to in its catalog of that year as "The Greatest Train Set of All Times." This Set includes the #2029 Diecast Steam Engine with the "Made in Japan" Trailing Truck, the #234W Whistle Tender, the #6014 White Frisco Boxcar, the #6476 Yellow Lehigh Valley Hopper, the #6315 LL Unpainted Chemical Tank Car, the #6560 Operating Crane Car with the Dark Blue Base, and the scarce #6119 Work Caboose with "Built By Lionel" on an Unlettered and chemically-treated Frame. The Set also includes the #1044 90-Watt Transformer, 027 Track w/90-degree Crossing, a Black #260 Bumper w/Hagerstown Box, and a Remote-Control Switch Track. Our Opinion is that the Set is generally in Excellent Condition, typical signs of use and age. The scarce Set Box is in (8) Condition; the bottom is fine but there are some softness and moisture issues with the lid, and some portions of the Inserts are missing and/or substituted from another Outfit. Otherwise All Original in our Opinion. Please add $40.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance. |
