Rare Lionel HO Sears Set #10146/9880/OBs

This is one of the most highly sought Lionel HO Sets; it along with one other HO Set was designated an exclusive Sears Promotional Outfit in 1963 and is numbered both "10146 and 9880"; only the third examples of this Set that we have ever seen. The Set includes #0535P Santa Fe A-unit Diesel, the scarce #0535W Santa Fe B-unit with Horn,
2-#0712, #0714, and #0715 Santa Fe Passenger Cars. The four Passegers Cars are unboxed in this example; they came wrapped in brown tissue paper and placed in an elongated brown paper bag marked "Collar's Corner / Hortonville, Wis. / 779-4822", which was the local Sears outlet. Quite possibly this set was displayed and the passenger car boxes (relatively easy to replace) were not-to-be-found when the outfit was finally sold in 1964! The rare Set Box is a brick and is marked with a Sears price-sticker showing a $29.99 suggested retail price. Our Opinion is that it is generally in overall Excellent Plus Condition. The "B" unit has a broken rear truck. Includes a complete #0110 Trestle Set and a Like New #0494 Rotating Beacon, plus all the Paperwork. Most interesting is the rare and unique track plan sheet "10106-10 7-63" printed on yellow paper. Also includes track and transformer. All Original in our Opinion.
