Museum Quality 1931 Model of De Witt Clinton Train Set in Glass Case made for Popular Mechanics

This Item has been sold. This sale has been certified as Final by the Attorney.

This is a Handmade Model of the DeWitt Clinton Engine, Tender and Passenger Coach in O Gauge. This was made by Ray Lauten, who was an instrument maker for Sperry Gyroscope Company of New York. This Model was entered as an entry for a Popular Mechanics Contest in 1931. Mr. Lauten won second prize in that contest and received a trip to Chicago on the 20th Century Limited as well as a check for $500.00. Our Opinion is that it is generally in Excellent Condition, very minor signs of use and age. Enclosed in a Glass Display Case. Museum Quality. All Original in our Opinion.
