This is the Original Set Box for the #1471WS Freight Set that Lionel made circa early 1950. This 027 Gauge Set would have included the #2035 Diecast Steam Engine with Headlight, Smoke and Magnetraction, the #6466W Whistle Tender, the #3469 Operating Coal Dump Car, the #6465 Sunoco Two Dome Tank Car, the #6454 Box Car, the #3461 Operating Log Dump Car and the #6357 Illuminated SP-Type Caboose. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ONLY BIDDING ON THE ORIGINAL SET BOX. This Original Set Box is in (8+) Condition. Please note that this is an interesting variation of this 1950 Set where the Set Box is the 1949 preprinted label type instead of the normal orange block 1950 type. Had the Retail Price preprinted on it which was subsequently taped over so it probably was available in 1951 when the inflation rate was over 30 percent. This Set was very expensive since it included two operating cars and an Engine with Smoke and Whistle. This Set Box variation is so unusual it was not even copied into David Doyle's Book.
