This is the Original Set Box for the #19320 (9886) that Lionel made as a Special Offering Uncatalogued Set for Sears circa 1963. This incredibly rare Set, in the minds of some, is the second rarest and most desirable Post-War Set after the #1 and #1(a) Father & Son Sets. According to our friends at Project Roar Publishing, whose amazing Lionel Uncatalogued Set Book is due early this fall, only 200 of these sets were made. We know of only three Set Boxes (including this one) that exists in Collectors hands. This Super O Set would have included the #2360 Tuscan Single Stripe GG-1 Electric with Dual Motors, Magnetraction and Horn, the #3362 Operating Helium Flat Car, the #6361 Timber Car, the #6827 Flat Car with P&H Power Shovel, the #6440 Flat Car with Gray Plate-less Trailers, the #6464-725 Orange New Haven Box Car, the #3830 Operating Submarine Car, the #6343 Barrel Ramp Car, the #6407 Pencil Sharpener Rocket Flat Car, the #6429 Work Caboose, a KW Transformer and a Lot of Super O Track. Lionel in 1963 was trying to move out old inventory and basically gave this Set away to Sears. The Price Sticker on the Set Box is $49.88. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ONLY BIDDING ON THE ORIGINAL SET BOX. This Original Set Box is in (9-) Condition, very clean and firm with nice, simple repairs to both top flaps where portions were originally stuck to one of the under-flaps because of excess glue. All Original in Our Opinion. Please add $40.00 for US-48 Shipping and Insurance. |
